Typical fumes that emerge from small but deep fractures in the ground, with temperatures that can range between 100 and 900 °C. The fumes consist of water vapor and gases, such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and other volcanic gases like hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, sulfur dioxide (e.g., HCl, HF, SO2) and/or hydrothermal gases like hydrogen sulfide and methane (e.g., H2S, CH4). Fumaroles can be present in active volcanic areas and inactive areas, and it is possible to find sulfur deposits with intense yellowish colorations in these zones.
