In Italy, 50% of district heating systems are concentrated in four regions: <\/span><b>Tuscany, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Piedmont<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A relevant example is the city of <\/span><b>Ferrara<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where an extensive geothermal district heating network provides heat to urban buildings.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Earth&#8217;s heat and in particular geothermal steam can also be used directly, for example in <\/span><b>brewing processes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In Italy, and particularly in Tuscany, there are virtuous examples of such application and more.
